February 2010 Update

As I write our latest update I am over in the UK for a few days work. I’m finding that I am coming to the UK now every 6 weeks with the hope of getting a few days work. Currently being away from Lacra and Robbie can be quite hard and long term this is not the ideal solution..........Read More

News Update 29-11-09

News Update - 13/5/09

We have now been living in Brasov as a family for nearly 7 months now. It has been quite an adventure but also quite challenging as we adapt and look to the future...........more

Andy has recently been doing some consultancy for a London based company. This work came at the right time for us, as to live in Brasov its critical that the work situation here develops. Please pray that this work continues to come in. It suits our situation very well as it means Andy can work at home on line and gives us tremendous flexibility as a family and also for Lacra’s charity.

Lacra’s mum is still receiving radiotherapy for the throat cancer  which she was recently diagnosed in having.

Robbie is growing in confidence all the time. He is still having his swimming lessons which he simply loves. Last Saturday we went swimming as a family, the last time we all went swimming Robbie had his armbands on and never had the confidence to take them off.

However we were both amazed on Saturday in seeing him swim with no armbands and just being so confident in the water. Although it was so exciting seeing him swim it also gave us that terror moment as he just plunges into the deep end with no fear at all. Before we didn’t need to worry as he had the arm bands on but this time we found we were watching him constantly.

Robbie seems to be getting invited to a lot of birthday parties recently, he must have that charm!! On Friday night he went to a girl’s party from his school only to find none of his chums from school had turned up..... He was the only boy at the party. But he seem to enjoy him self anyway. I’m sure in a few years time it will be his dream to be the only boy at a girls party.

Andy is still doing his Romanian lessons and is coming on slowly. Its essential that Andy speaks the language so that he can integrate into the society here.

May 2010 Update

As I write this update I am sitting in the offices of the CVN the street kids charity in Brasov. It is the same building where Lacra’s stupinikids day centre meets. I tend to spend quite a bit of time here recently. Just now  it is boiling hot day, unusually hot for this time of the year. Currently CCBV the church we attend has a group of 20..........Read More
