For a few years now Lacra and a committed team of volunteers has been running an after school homework club for kids. The aim of the club is to help the kids through their education with the dream of given these kids a start in life with a decent education.
Most of the kids come from a suburb of Brasov called Stupini which has quite a very poor area, although not all parts of Stupini are poor. The aim of this page is mainly to give up to date info.
This term (starting Sept 09) there are 20 kids enrolled on the homework club. Most of them would arrive at the centre after school after catching 2 buses through the city to get here. We have also seen some kids coming from other areas of Brasov and not just Stupini this term.
At the centre they would get a hot meal and the team would help them complete their homework.
Most of the volunteers are kids which have completed the homework club and dedicate their afternoons in helping these kids through their education.
On a Saturday 3 of the volunteers run a church home group for the kids. Currently about 12 kids would attend this home group.
